Aleksandr Berda
Aleksandr Berda (1956-2009), a Russian actor, is renowned for his collaboration with director Aleksej Balabanov. His fame stems primarily from the cult films *Brat* (Brother, 1997) and *Brat 2* (Brother 2, 2000).
In *Brat*, he played the memorable 'German' (Nemets), an enigmatic and pragmatic figure who serves as an unwitting guide for the protagonist Danila Bagrov, a role that solidified his image.
Berda was often cast in roles of tough, outspoken men, sometimes cynical or with a military/criminal past. His acting, restrained and believable, made him ideal for portraying characters on the fringes of society or men of action, leaving a distinctive mark on post-Soviet cinema.
