Alexandre Rodrigues
Alexandre Rodrigues is a Brazilian actor, who became famous for his portrayal of Buscapé (Rocket) in the award-winning 2002 film *Cidade de Deus* (City of God).
The role, which saw him emerge from a cast of non-professional actors from Rio de Janeiro's communities, established him internationally. His performance, characterized by raw authenticity and profound humanity, captured the essence of the character and the complexity of life in the favelas.
Subsequently, he reprised the character of Buscapé in the spin-off television series *Cidade dos Homens* (City of Men). Rodrigues is often associated with roles that explore the social dynamics and challenges of urban peripheries, bringing resilient and introspective characters to the screen, with a natural and engaging acting style. Although *Cidade de Deus* remains his most iconic film, he has continued to work in various Brazilian film and television productions.
