Amedeo Nazzari
**Amedeo Nazzari** (1907-1979) was an iconic Italian actor, a veritable "divo" and a symbol of virility and charisma on screen, active from the pre-war period until the 1970s.
Specializing in roles as strong, tormented, or heroic men, his screen presence, deep voice, and intense gaze made him an ideal lead for melodramas and social dramas. His most significant films include the neorealist drama *Il bandito* (1946) by Alberto Lattuada, the popular tearjerking melodramas *Catene* (1949) and *Tormento* (1950), directed by Raffaello Matarazzo, and *La lupa* (1953) by Alberto Lattuada. He also demonstrated his versatility in more complex roles, such as in Luchino Visconti's *Le notti bianche* (1957). Nazzari remains a central and legendary figure of Italian cinema.
