Barbara Nichols
Barbara Nichols (1929–1986) was a distinctive American actress, known for her roles as a busty, brash blonde. Specializing in lively and often comical supporting characters, she played showgirls, moll, happy-go-lucky girls, or secretaries with a penchant for luxury, always with a touch of self-irony.
Her husky voice and impeccable timing allowed her to leave her mark on important films. Among her most famous films are *Sweet Smell of Success* (1957), where she excels in the role of a naive model, *Pal Joey* (1957) alongside Frank Sinatra, and *King Creole* (1958) with Elvis Presley. She also had memorable roles in *Don't Go Near the Water* (1957) and *The Naked Maja* (1958).
Although not a leading lady, Nichols was a recognizable and beloved face of Hollywood cinema in the 1950s and early 1960s, capable of adding color and liveliness to any scene.
