**Bill McKinney (1931-2011)** was an American actor, known for his roles as villains and authoritative figures. His most iconic performance was that of the unsettling banjo-playing mountaineer in John Boorman's *Deliverance* (1972), a scene that has become a cinematic classic.
McKinney was a recurring face in Clint Eastwood's films, appearing in titles such as *The Outlaw Josey Wales* (1976), *Every Which Way but Loose* (1978), *Bronco Billy* (1980), and *Any Which Way You Can* (1980).
