**Bruce Cabot** (born Étienne Pelissier Jacques de Bujac; 1904-1972) was an American actor, renowned for his charismatic presence and 'tough guy' roles in classic Hollywood cinema.

He is universally remembered for his role as Jack Driscoll, the hero who saves Fay Wray, in the masterpiece *King Kong* (1933), a film that launched him as an adventurous leading man. Throughout his career, Cabot specialized in portraying determined characters, often action heroes, adventurers, or antagonists.

He frequently worked alongside John Wayne in numerous Westerns and adventure films, including *Angel and the Badman* (1947), *Hatari!* (1962), and *The Comancheros* (1961), becoming a familiar face as a member of the "John Wayne stock company." Other notable films include Fritz Lang's *Fury* (1936) and John Ford's *The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance* (1962).
