Buddy Ebsen

**Buddy Ebsen (1908-2003)** was an American actor and dancer whose long career spanned film, theater, and television. He began as a dancer on Broadway, bringing his agility and charisma to the big screen.

He is known for being the first actor to play the Tin Man in the classic "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), a role he had to abandon due to an allergic reaction to the makeup. Subsequently, he established himself as a respected character actor, often portraying loyal, wise, eccentric figures or those with a rustic charm.

Among his most significant film roles are Doc Golightly in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961) and an intense performance in the war drama "Attack!" (1956). Although he achieved television stardom with "The Beverly Hillbillies," Ebsen also left a distinctive mark in cinema with his versatility and recognizable presence.
