Carolyn Jones (1923-1983) was an American actress, notable for her impact in both television (Morticia Addams) and cinema. She began her career in the 1950s, quickly establishing herself in dramatic and often eccentric roles.

Her distinctive style, which combined elegance with a touch of melancholy or eeriness, made her ideal for complex characters. Among her most notable films are the horror *House of Wax* (1953), the science fiction classic *Invasion of the Body Snatchers* (1956), the comedy *The Seven Year Itch* (1955), and *King Creole* (1958) alongside Elvis Presley.
