Catherine Lacey (1900-1979) was a British actress renowned for her distinguished film and theatre career. Remembered for memorable roles, she excelled at portraying complex and often unsettling characters.

Among her most iconic performances is that of the mysterious nun in Alfred Hitchcock's *The Lady Vanishes* (1938). She collaborated frequently with Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, appearing in films such as *I Know Where I'm Going!* (1945) and *Black Narcissus* (1947), where she often portrayed elderly, stern yet dignified women, or eccentric figures.
