**Chazz Palminteri** (born Calogero Lorenzo Palminteri on May 15, 1952) is an American actor, screenwriter, and director. He is universally recognized for his role and screenplay for *A Bronx Tale* (1993), a film adaptation of his successful stage play.

His film career is marked by portrayals of complex characters, often tough guys or figures connected to organized crime, yet with an underlying depth and vulnerability. Among his most memorable roles are Sonny in *A Bronx Tale*, Cheech in *Bullets Over Broadway*, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and Agent Dave Kujan in *The Usual Suspects*.
