Chico Marx

**Leonard "Chico" Marx** (1887-1961) was an American actor and comedian, an iconic member of the Marx Brothers. In cinema, he embodied the character of the Italian con man with a fake Sicilian accent, recognizable by his curly hair, Tyrolean hat, and jokes based on wordplay and misunderstandings.

His comedic style was based on malapropism and on being Groucho's naive but cunning straight man, often serving as a bridge between the logical and absurd worlds of his brothers. He was also renowned for his eccentric piano performances, often played with one finger or in an unusual manner, an unmissable moment in their films.

Among his most famous films are classics such as *Duck Soup* (1933), *A Night at the Opera* (1935), and *A Day at the Races* (1937), where his interaction with Harpo and Groucho defined their anarchic and surreal humor.
