Choi Min-sik

**Choi Min-sik (born in 1962)** is a South Korean actor acclaimed for his intense stage presence and the depth of his performances. He is internationally known for his iconic role as Oh Dae-su in Park Chan-wook's neo-noir thriller **Oldboy** (2003), which established him as a central figure in contemporary Korean cinema.

His career is marked by complex and often morally ambiguous roles. He has excelled in portraying charismatic, sometimes brutal or vengeful characters, such as the gangster in **Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time** (2012) or the disturbed avenger in **I Saw the Devil** (2010). Choi Min-sik has also demonstrated his versatility and commercial appeal in historical hits such as **The Admiral: Roaring Currents** (2014), one of the highest-grossing films in Korean history.
