Constance Towers
Constance Towers (1933) is an American actress known for her elegance and intensity. She began her film career in the 1950s, gaining recognition in John Ford films such as the dramatic *Soldati a cavallo* (The Horse Soldiers, 1959) and *Sergeant Rutledge* (1960).
However, it was with director Samuel Fuller that she delivered her most memorable performances. In *Il corridoio della paura* (Shock Corridor, 1963) she portrayed a strong and determined woman, and in *Il bacio nudo* (The Naked Kiss, 1964) a complex and morally ambiguous character.
Her typical roles included sophisticated, intelligent women, often with a streak of vulnerability or a hidden strength. Her screen presence was characterized by grace and a penetrating expression, lending depth even to seemingly simple characters. She continued to work for decades, including in television.
