**Dominique Sanda** (born Dominique Marie-Françoise Renée Varaigne in 1948) is an iconic French actress known for her ethereal elegance and enigmatic screen presence. She gained international fame, particularly in Italian arthouse cinema, playing complex and often melancholic female roles.
Her most iconic films include Bernardo Bertolucci's *The Conformist* (1970), in which she played the intense Anna Quadri, and Vittorio De Sica's *The Garden of the Finzi-Contini* (1970), in which she gave a memorable performance as Micol Finzi-Contini.
