**Don Keefer** (1916-2014) was an American character actor, known for his long and prolific career in supporting roles in film and television.
Specializing in portraying characters who were often nervous, bureaucratic, or eccentric, he managed to infuse depth and a touch of tragicomedy even into the smallest parts. His most notable collaboration was with director Stanley Kubrick, appearing in iconic films such as *Lolita* (1962), as Mr. Starch, and *Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb* (1964), where he played the officer aboard the bomber.
