Edith Scob (1937-2019) was an iconic French actress, renowned for her ethereal presence and often enigmatic roles in arthouse cinema.

She achieved international fame with Georges Franju's horror-fantasy masterpiece *Les Yeux sans visage* (1960), playing Christiane, the disfigured victim with a bandaged face.

This role defined her image as a fragile yet disturbing figure, making her an icon of the genre. Her collaboration with Franju continued in *Judex* (1963), cementing her reputation as the ideal actress for mysterious characters with aristocratic charm.

Throughout her long career, Scob was able to embody characters who hid secrets or suffering behind a facade of composed elegance.
