Edmund Moeschke
Edmund Moeschke was a German actor, active primarily during the Weimar Republic's silent film era and the early sound years. His fame is primarily associated with the role of the ship's first mate in F.W. Murnau's classic expressionist horror film *Nosferatu, A Symphony of Horror* (1922), a brief but memorable performance.
His other film appearances include significant silent films such as Henrik Galeen's *Der Student von Prag* (1926) and early sound works like *Der Bettelstudent* (1931). Moeschke excelled in supporting roles, often portraying figures of authority, common men, or characters instrumental to the plot, with a solid and distinctive style that made him a recognizable face of German cinema of the era.
