Erich Gühne
Erich Gühne (1885-1959) was a German actor, active primarily in the 1930s and 1940s. His film career was deeply intertwined with the period of National Socialism, during which he was often cast in roles of authority, austere figures, doctors, or officers. His acting style was characterized by an imposing presence and clear diction, which made him suitable for inflexible or didactic characters.
Among his most notable appearances were propaganda films of the regime: he was the narrator of the infamous documentary *Der ewige Jude* (1940). He also acted in works such as *Ich klage an* (1941), which advocated euthanasia, and the epic *Kolberg* (1945), one of the last major Nazi propaganda films.
After the war, he continued to work, albeit with less prominence, in some West German productions, solidifying an image associated with stern and determined characters.
