**Frank Adonis** (born Frank Scioscia; 1935 – 2018) was an American character actor, celebrated for his prolific film career focused on roles as mobsters, thugs, and tough underworld figures. His career was inextricably linked to the cinema of Martin Scorsese, who cast him in several of his most iconic films.

Adonis made his mark in seminal films such as *Raging Bull* (1980), *Goodfellas* (1990), where he played the enforcer Anthony Stabile, and *Casino* (1995), as Pasquale. His gritty presence and gruff face made him perfect for embodying street characters with remarkable authenticity. Often in supporting yet memorable roles, Adonis helped define the atmosphere and credibility of the criminal world depicted by Scorsese.

In addition to his Scorsese collaborations, he had a significant role in Jim Jarmusch's *Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai* (1999). Adonis's style was characterized by a raw naturalness and a quiet intensity, which made him a recognizable and appreciated face in the gangster genre.
