**Frank McHugh (1893-1965)** was a prolific American character actor, best known for his film career spanning the 1930s to the 1950s. Known for his supporting roles, he often played affable, nervous characters, loyal friends or right-hand men, bringing a touch of humanity and humor to the scenes.

A familiar face, especially in Warner Bros. productions of the 1930s and 1940s, McHugh appeared in a large number of successful films. Among his most memorable roles were those in One Way Passage (1932), the musical Footlight Parade (1933), the Shakespearean comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), and the gangster drama The Roaring Twenties (1939).
