**Frank Reicher (1875-1965)** was a German-American character actor. Spanning a career in silent and sound films, he became a familiar face in supporting roles.

Reicher was often cast as authoritative, scholarly, or dignified figures: doctors, professors, scientists, captains, and government officials. His most celebrated role was undoubtedly that of Captain Englehorn in *King Kong* (1933) and *Son of Kong*.

He appeared in over 200 films, including *Mystery of the Wax Museum* (1933), *Dr. Ehrlich's Magic Bullet* (1940), and *The Secret Life of Walter Mitty* (1947). His reliable presence and his ability to imbue characters with gravitas made him a staple of Golden Age Hollywood films.
