Geraldine Chaplin (Santa Monica, 1944) is an internationally renowned actress, daughter of the legendary Charlie Chaplin. After an initial career in ballet, she gained global recognition with the role of Tonya in David Lean's *Doctor Zhivago* (1965).

Her career is deeply linked to Spanish cinema, particularly to her collaboration with director Carlos Saura, with whom she made iconic films such as *Cría cuervos* (1976) and *Ana y los lobos* (1973), often portraying complex and tormented figures. She has demonstrated great versatility working with international directors such as Robert Altman (*Nashville*, 1975) and Pedro Almodóvar (*Talk to Her*, 2002).

Known for her ability to embody eccentric, intellectual, or fragile characters, she has often explored intimate and psychologically dense roles. A particularly significant role was her portrayal of her grandmother Hannah Chaplin in the biopic *Chaplin* (1992). She continues to act in character roles, as in *The Impossible* (2012) and *The Orphanage* (2007).
