Gloria Grahame (1923-1981) was an American actress, an icon of classic film noir. She was celebrated for her ability to portray complex and often tormented women: femme fatales, "molls" with hearts of gold, or fragile yet resilient figures. Her distinctive style, characterized by a sensual voice and an intense presence, made her unforgettable.

She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for *The Bad and the Beautiful* (1952). Her most celebrated performances also include *Crossfire* (1947), *It's a Wonderful Life* (1946, a minor but iconic role), *Sudden Fear* (1952), and especially *The Big Heat* (1953), where she delivered a memorable performance.
