The role that cemented her reputation is that of Maddalena in Pier Paolo Pasolini's *Accattone* (1961), where she delivered a raw and memorable performance that revealed her dramatic talent. She worked again with Pasolini in *The Gospel According to St. Matthew* (1964).
She collaborated with important directors, distinguishing herself in films such as Mauro Bolognini's *Senilità* (1962), Dario Argento's *The Cat o' Nine Tails* (1971), and Mario Monicelli's *An Average Little Man* (1977).

Her acting, never over-the-top, made her a significant presence in both Italian arthouse and genre cinema.
