Helmut Griem (1932-2004) was a German actor, known for his elegance and versatility, with a significant career in cinema, especially in the 1970s.

He worked with prominent directors such as Luchino Visconti, who cast him in *The Damned* (1969) in the complex role of Friedrich Bruckmann, and subsequently in *Ludwig* (1972). Another iconic role was that of Baron Maximilian von Heune in Bob Fosse's *Cabaret* (1972), where he displayed an ambiguous and sophisticated charm.

Griem was often chosen to portray aristocratic, intellectual, complex, and at times ambiguous or tormented characters, distinguishing himself with his refined intensity on screen.
