Henry Bergman (1866-1946) was an American actor, known for his long and fruitful collaboration with Charlie Chaplin. From 1916, Bergman became a key member of Chaplin's company, appearing in almost all of his major films.

He was renowned for his remarkable versatility and ability to transform himself. He often played character roles, from authoritarian elders to benevolent figures, but also hostile or comical ones, becoming an iconic face of silent and early sound cinema.

Among his most memorable performances are those in *The Immigrant* (1917), *The Circus* (1928), *The Gold Rush* (1925) as Hank Curtis, *City Lights* (1931), and *Modern Times* (1936). His last role was in *Limelight* (1952), where he played a stage manager.
