Hilda Borgström (1871-1969) was a prominent Swedish actress, particularly renowned for her career in silent cinema. She frequently collaborated with director Victor Sjöström, excelling at portraying dramatic and intense roles.

Her most iconic role is arguably that of Ingeborg Holm in the eponymous film (1913), a masterpiece of Swedish cinema, where she delivered a heart-wrenching performance of a woman confronting destitution and madness. She also played Marit in the celebrated *Gösta Berlings saga* (1924), alongside a young Greta Garbo.

Borgström was known for her naturalistic and restrained acting. She often portrayed strong women, resilient mothers, or tragic figures who faced adversity with dignity. Although she continued to act in sound films, her most significant and memorable contributions remain tied to the golden age of Swedish silent cinema.
