Jameson Thomas
Jameson Thomas (1889-1984) was a British actor who rose to fame during the silent film era and the early years of sound cinema. He was renowned for his roles as a charming and sophisticated gentleman, often with an ambiguous or tormented side.
Among his most iconic roles were Valentine Wilmot, the club owner in *Piccadilly* (1929), a silent drama in which he starred alongside Anna May Wong. He also collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock on *Easy Virtue* (1928), where he played the protagonist's husband, and in the thriller *Blackmail* (1929), considered the first British sound film, where he was a police inspector involved in a murder.
His elegant presence and ability to portray complex characters, often in morally ambiguous situations, made him a recognizable face of English cinema between the two World Wars.
