Jared Gilman (born December 28, 1998) is an American actor, primarily known for his film debut. He gained global recognition in 2012 with the role of Sam Shakusky in Wes Anderson's critically acclaimed film *Moonrise Kingdom*.

In the film, he portrayed a young, serious, and introverted orphaned boy scout who runs away with a peer, demonstrating remarkable acting maturity for his age and contributing to the film's unique tone. Although this role remains his most distinctive and celebrated performance, Gilman subsequently took on roles in other films, including *Elsa & Fred* (2014) and *Two Men in Town* (2014).
