**Jean-Pierre Aumont** (Paris, 1911 – Gassin, 2001) was a French actor, an elegant and charismatic figure in cinema for over six decades.

His long film career began in the 1930s, where he quickly established himself as a romantic and charming face in films such as *Lac-aux-Dames* (1934) and *Hôtel du Nord* (1938). During World War II, he moved to Hollywood, starring in American productions such as *The Cross of Lorraine* (1943) and *Heartbeat* (1946).

Upon his return to France, he continued to work assiduously, dividing his time between European and Hollywood productions. Among his most iconic roles was his performance in *Lili* (1953), alongside Leslie Caron, which earned him a Golden Globe.

Aumont was known for his refined bearing and his ability to portray gallant, sophisticated, and often noble-spirited characters, maintaining an image of a distinguished gentleman on screen until his last works in the 1990s.
