John Beck

John Beck (Chicago, January 28, 1943) is an American actor, known for often portraying authoritative figures, tough guys, or principled and resolute characters.

His film career has included participation in several significant productions. He is best known for the role of Bartholomew, the ambitious and ruthless Energy Corporation executive, in the dystopian classic *Rollerball* (1975). Another prominent role is that of Larry Douglas in *The Other Side of Midnight* (1977), an adaptation of Sidney Sheldon's best-selling novel.

He also appeared in Woody Allen's comedic sci-fi film *Sleeper* (1973) and the supernatural thriller *Audrey Rose* (1977). His on-screen presence was often characterized by an imposing physicality and a measured acting style, which made him a recognizable face in 70s and 80s genre cinema.
