Jon Voigt

Jon Voight is an American actor whose decades-long film career is characterized by intense and often tormented performances. He achieved international fame with *Midnight Cowboy* (1969), where he played a naive Texan gigolo.

Among his most significant roles are those in *Deliverance* (1972) and especially in *Coming Home* (1978), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor, portraying a paraplegic Vietnam veteran.

In the following years, Voight demonstrated great versatility, ranging from charismatic villain roles (as in *Mission: Impossible*, 1996) to intense physical and vocal transformations, such as that of Howard Cosell in *Ali* (2001), which earned him another Oscar nomination. His style is characterized by a deep immersion into characters, often complex and morally ambiguous.
