**Louis Jourdan** (Marseille, 1921 – Beverly Hills, 2015) was a French actor, renowned for his sophisticated charm and natural elegance. He established himself in Hollywood as a leading performer of romantic and gallant roles, often embodying the archetype of the "continental lover."
His most iconic role remains that of Gaston Lachaille in the musical *Gigi* (1958), which earned him worldwide fame. Among his most memorable performances are also *Letter from an Unknown Woman* (1948) by Max Ophüls, where he portrayed the tormented lover, and *Three Coins in the Fountain* (1954).
Subsequently, Jourdan also successfully ventured into more complex or antagonistic roles, such as in the James Bond film *Octopussy* (1983). His screen presence was synonymous with sophistication and a touch of exoticism.
