**Maggie Cheung Man-yuk** (Hong Kong, 1964) is one of the most acclaimed actresses in Asian cinema. Initially an actress in light comedies and action films, her career underwent an artistic turning point thanks to director **Wong Kar-wai**, who revealed her dramatic talent.

Films such as *As Tears Go By* and *Days of Being Wild* marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration, culminating in *In the Mood for Love* (2000). Her elegant and melancholic portrayal of Su Li-zhen has become iconic.

Among her most significant performances are also *Centre Stage* (1992), which earned her numerous awards, and the romantic *Comrades: Almost a Love Story* (1996).
