**Marcello Cannavale** was an Italian actor, a prolific character actor in cinema. Brother of the equally famous Enzo Cannavale, his film career developed primarily between the 1970s and 1980s.

Specializing in supporting roles, he excelled in *commedia all'italiana*, the *poliziottesco* genre, and in so-called "B-movies," often portraying amusing, bumbling, or pompous characters. Among his numerous appearances, notable ones include films such as *Il commissario di ferro* (1978), *La patata bollente* (1979), and several movies alongside Lino Banfi or Gloria Guida.

His comedic persona, characterized by an often astonished or bewildered expression, and his unmistakable Neapolitan accent, made him a familiar and appreciated face, capable of adding a touch of color and lightness even to minor roles.
