Marie-Laure Dougnac

Marie-Laure Dougnac is a French actress primarily known for her collaboration with directors Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Her most iconic role is that of Julie Clapet in the cult film *Delicatessen* (1991), where she portrays the butcher's daughter, who falls in love with the building's new tenant. This performance made her a recognizable face of French auteur cinema. She continued her collaboration with the duo in *The City of Lost Children* (La Cité des enfants perdus, 1995), playing Miette.

Dougnac is often associated with characters possessing a certain eccentricity or peculiar innocence, who move within fantastic or grotesque settings, typical of the visual and narrative style of the directors she worked with. Although she has had other roles in television and theater, it is these cinematic performances that have made her a recognizable face for fans of the genre.
