Mark Margolis (Philadelphia, 1939 – New York, 2023) was an American character actor, recognized for his prolific career and intense roles.

He made his mark in numerous films, often portraying enigmatic or menacing characters. Among his early notable roles was that of "The Shadow" in *Scarface* (1983). He was a frequent collaborator of director Darren Aronofsky, appearing in as many as six of his films, including *Requiem for a Dream*, *The Wrestler*, *Black Swan*, *Noah*, and *Pi*.

Despite his long film career, he gained international fame for the iconic role of Hector Salamanca, the drug lord in a wheelchair, in the TV series *Breaking Bad* and *Better Call Saul*. His style was characterized by a strong screen presence, often with little dialogue but great impact, making him a memorable face in the landscape of cinema and television.
