
Martin Milner
**Martin Sam Milner (1931-2015)** was an American actor who was active from a young age in supporting roles. Known for his reassuring face and “nice guy” roles, Milner excelled at portraying honest, upright, and sometimes naive characters.
His most notable films include the war epic *Sands of Iwo Jima* (1949), in which he starred alongside John Wayne, and the classic noir *Sweet Smell of Success* (1957), in which he played the innocent journalist Steve Dallas, manipulated by a cynical Burt Lancaster. He also appeared in Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957) and Compulsion (1959).
His acting was characterized by naturalness and reliability. Although best known to the general public for the television series *Route 66* and *Adam-12*, his filmography includes appearances in notable works, often in roles as young professionals or authority figures.
