Maureen Lipman (born in Hull, 1946) is a British actress with a long and varied career in theatre, television, and film.

On the big screen, she is particularly remembered for her portrayal of the professor in the acclaimed *Educating Rita* (1983), a role that showcased her comedic and dramatic talent. Another notable performance is her poignant portrayal of Władysław Szpilman's mother, Mrs. Szpilman, in Roman Polanski's Academy Award-winning drama *The Pianist* (2002).
