Mildred Davis

Mildred Davis (1901-1969) was an American silent film actress, primarily remembered as the main female protagonist and "leading lady" alongside Harold Lloyd, one of the great comedians of the era.

Their collaboration resulted in numerous successes, including the famous *Grandma's Boy* (1922) and *Safety Last!* (1923), perhaps her most iconic role. Davis usually played sweet, naive, and kind-hearted female characters, often the object of Lloyd's affection or somehow linked to his adventures. Although she was often the "damsel in distress," her roles were characterized by a subtle comedic vein and a natural grace that made her the perfect counterpart to Lloyd's bumbling hero.

After marrying Harold Lloyd in 1923, Davis retired from the screen, dedicating herself to her family and prematurely ending a promising career.
