Nando Orfei

Nando Orfei (Rome, 1922 – 2014) was an Italian actor, known primarily for his prolific film career as a character actor. A member of the renowned Orfei circus family, he brought an innate physicality and a raspy voice to the screen.

He specialized in "romanaccio" roles, often portraying common, naive, or cunning characters, but always with a good-natured and grotesque streak. Among his most memorable performances are those in masterpieces of *commedia all'italiana*. He worked with great directors such as Ettore Scola in **_Brutti, sporchi e cattivi_** (1976), where he embodied the famous character of 'Il nonno' (The Grandfather), Marco Ferreri in **_La grande abbuffata_** (1973), and Steno in **_Febbre da cavallo_** (1976).

His distinctive style and stage presence made him a recognizable and beloved figure in Italian cinema, contributing his authenticity to many films.
