**Olivier Gourmet** (born in 1963) is a Belgian actor, one of the most recognizable and esteemed faces of European art-house cinema. His career is inextricably linked to his collaboration with brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, who have directed him in numerous acclaimed films.

He won the Prix d'interprétation masculine at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 for his intense performance in the Dardenne brothers' *Le Fils*. His most notable roles with the Belgian directors also include *La Promesse*, *Rosetta*, and *Two Days, One Night*.

Gourmet is renowned for his ability to portray ordinary men, often working-class or marginalized figures, imbued with a deep and touching humanity. His acting style is characterized by a raw realism and an intense yet understated presence, lending great authenticity to his characters. He has also worked with other important directors in films such as *The Minister* (*L'Exercice de l'État*) and *My King* (*Mon Roi*).
