Paul Giamatti
Paul Giamatti (born in 1967) is an American actor known for his ability to bring complex and often unusual characters to life, far removed from the stereotypes of the classic leading man.
His film career includes memorable performances in films such as *American Splendor* (2003), where he portrayed cartoonist Harvey Pekar, and especially *Sideways* (2004), which established him as an actor of great emotional depth, earning him a Golden Globe nomination. He received an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in *Cinderella Man* (2005).
Giamatti is praised for his versatility and his ability to portray the 'everyman' with nuances of cynicism, intelligence, and vulnerability. His characters are often learned, neurotic, or disillusioned, but always profoundly human. He recently achieved great success with *The Holdovers* (2023).
