Richard Anderson (1926-2017) was an American actor. Born in New Jersey, he had a long and distinguished career in film and television.

In film, he is known for his roles in two classics: the science fiction film *Forbidden Planet* (1956), where he played chief engineer Jerry Farman, and Stanley Kubrick's war drama *Paths of Glory* (1957), in the role of Major Saint-André.
