Robert Armstrong (1890-1973) was an American actor, best known for his role as Carl Denham, the impresario-explorer, in the classic *King Kong* (1933) and its sequel *Son of Kong* (1933).

A prominent figure among character actors, Armstrong appeared in over 200 films throughout his prolific career. He distinguished himself in roles as adventurous characters, showmen, or authoritative and self-assured figures.
