**Robert Forster (1941-2019)** was an American actor known for his long and versatile career. He began in the 1960s, often playing "tough guy" or detective roles, such as in the counterculture drama *Medium Cool* (1969).

His career saw a significant resurgence in 1997 with Quentin Tarantino's *Jackie Brown*, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, portraying the sympathetic bail bondsman Max Cherry.

From that point on, he became a beloved character actor, appearing in films by David Lynch (*Mulholland Drive*) and acclaimed series like *Breaking Bad* and *Twin Peaks: The Return*. Forster was celebrated for his ability to infuse gravity and authenticity into his characters, often portraying resolute, loyal, sometimes melancholic figures but with a strong morality.
