
Rod Taylor
Rod Taylor (1930-2015) was an Australian actor, famous for his Hollywood film career. As a leading man in successful films, he distinguished himself with his charisma and physicality.
Among his most iconic performances are George Wells in George Pal's sci-fi classic *The Time Machine* (1960) and Mitch Brenner in Alfred Hitchcock's cult thriller *The Birds* (1963), a role that cemented his global fame. His versatility led him to act in various genres, from adventure (*The Last Train from Katanga*) to comedy.
He often portrayed robust, charming characters with a cynical streak, yet always courageous and resourceful. He lent his voice to the character of Pongo in *One Hundred and One Dalmatians* (1961). His last film appearance was a cameo as Winston Churchill in Quentin Tarantino's *Inglourious Basterds* (2009).
