**Rose Hobart (1906-2000)** was an American actress known for her film career in the 1930s and 1940s.
Her most celebrated role was that of Muriel Carew in the classic horror film *Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde* (1931), where she starred alongside Fredric March. She appeared in numerous genre films, often adventurous or dramatic, such as *East of Borneo* (1931) and the cult film *The Curse of the Cat People* (1944).
Hobart was distinguished by her elegance and her ability to portray sophisticated women, sometimes vulnerable or tragic, but also strong and independent figures. She was a constant and recognizable presence in the B-movie landscape of the era.
