Sen Yano

**Sen Yano** (1925-2007) was a Japanese actor, renowned for his intense portrayals of complex and often tormented characters. His film career is inextricably linked to post-war cinema and, in particular, to the works of Akira Kurosawa.

Among his most memorable roles is that of the radiation-affected worker in *I Live in Fear* (Ikimono no kiroku, 1955), where he offered a powerful representation of paranoia and despair. He also contributed with his incisive presence to films such as *Stray Dog* (Nora Inu, 1949) and *Drunken Angel* (Yoidore tenshi, 1948).

Although often in supporting roles, Yano was known for his ability to infuse his characters with deep humanity and realism, leaving a distinctive mark on the Japanese cinematic landscape.
