Stanley Blystone
**Stanley Blystone (1894-1956)** was an extremely prolific American character actor, known for his vast number of film appearances, often uncredited, in over 500 films.
Primarily active in B-movies, Westerns, and serials of Hollywood's Golden Age, Blystone specialized in "tough guy" roles. He often portrayed burly, authoritative, and at times menacing characters, such as thugs, henchmen, bartenders, or sheriffs, becoming a familiar face for regular viewers of the genre.
Among his most significant appearances, though often in minor roles, are masterpieces such as Charlie Chaplin's *Modern Times* (1936), John Ford's *The Grapes of Wrath* (1940), and the famous serial *The Crimson Ghost* (1946), where he played one of its henchmen. His imposing physique and scowling expression made him an icon of B-movies.
